The youthful victim in a high-profile Washington County child abuse case has died in Ottawa County. Reportedly, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is looking into the death of 5-year-old Conner Kreider-Reece in Ottawa County.

A historic steel-truss bridge will soon be removed and a new bridge built in its place. The 152-foot Parker through-truss bridge to be removed is located about three and one-half miles northwest of Washington on Western Avenue.

Two Pottawatomie County reserve sheriff's deputies killed last fall in a crash near Asher will be honored next month at the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial in Washington. Tim Lowry, 56, and Mike Roberts, 45, were serving warrants the evening of Sept. 30 when their patrol car collided with a tractor-trailer on State Highway 39.
